After months of false start openings, the Indali Lounge is now serving a full a la carte menu in its chic Baker Street surrounds. If you fancy a biryani without the bloating, this is the place. Ghee, cream and other calorific ingredients are banned from the kitchen so the dishes are lighter but no less delicious than their full-fat counterparts.

The latest venture from gastro-pub gods, Tom and Ed Martin, is the third of their creations to boast a trendy EC postcode. (The other two being The Well and The White Swan). This 19th century boozer has been given the usual gastro makeover and is now serving up traditional British grub and their own French wines to well-heeled Hatton Garden locals.

Cinnamon Kitchen

Fans of the legendary Cinnamon Club have been eagerly awaiting the opening of their City offshoot for months. Now open in Devonshire Square, it's a slick grey space where the food adds spice and colour to the understated interior. The venue is also home to Anise - their equally impressive new cocktail bar.

Corrigan's Mayfair

After announcing that Lindsay House will close next year, Richard Corrigan has opened a new restaurant in a seriously stylish location near Hyde Park. The room is comfortably elegant, the service is charming, and the menu is (perhaps unsurprsingly) a carnivore's delight. As the cold winter nights draw in, there's no better place to feast on Corrigan's hearty British fare, especially if you like game.

Casa Brindisa

With the newly opened Tierra Brindisa busy winning the hearts of Soho locals, there's an even newer branch now open in trendy South Kensington. It's their biggest space so far, complete with a bar, an informal tapas area, a ham carving counter and a room with seating and a view of the open kitchen. There's even a deli in the basement offering a huge range of Spanish cheeses. What more could you ask for?

Enzo and Robert Scalzo (of Patisserie Valerie fame) have opened an all day brasserie and gallery near St James's Park. Head Chef Gilberto Podda has put together a menu of light European dishes like linguini frutti di mare, beef carpaccio and grilled salmon with horseradish mayo. You can pop in for breakfast or a quick lunch, or enjoy dinner with friends surrounded by modern masterpieces.

Trishna

The London outpost of legendary Mumbai seafood restaurant, Trishna, is now open in Marylebone. The Head Chef is Ravi Deulkar, formerly of Rasoi Vineet Bhatia, and the menu includes dishes like Hyderabadi monkfish cheek tikka; whole crab with butter, black pepper and garlic; and a unique take on traditional fish and chips.

Kumo
11 Beauchamp Place, SW3 1NQ
Hidden under Beauchamp Place, Kumo is a new gem on the Knightsbridge bar scene. It's inspired by the beauty of the East, complete with red silk walls, a Lotus Onyx bar and a striking pyramid ceiling. The menu boasts an exotic range of cocktails and dishes like king prawns with yuzu miso; shiro miso sea bass; and warm mixed mushroom salad with Japanese spices. Definitely one to watch.

Princi, the chic Milanese chain of boutique bakeries, has opened its first London branch on Soho's Wardour Street in conjunction with Alan Yau (the legend behind Cha Cha Moon and Sake No Hana). This ultra cool bakery and cake will serve up freshly baked goodies like their signature olive bread, alongside hot pasta dishes which can be eaten at communal tables or taken away.

Bored of British? Uninspired by Indian? Why not try Scandinavian? At this bright and airy brasserie in South Ken, the menu is made up of healthy modern dishes alongside traditional Nordic dishes and a Sunday smorgasbord. They will be lauching a handy takeout service soon - ideal if you're working late but don't want to miss out!

The recently refurbished Spitalfields Market welcomes another new eatery in the form of Le Bouchon Breton - an impressive 200-seater brasserie, champagne and shellfish bar. With Head Chef Nico Laridan and Michel Roux Jr in charge of the menu and ex-Le Gavroche sommelier Francois Bertrand tackling the 700 bin wine list, this Gallic super-venue will have no problem charming the local City slickers.

Avista
Millennium Hotel Mayfair, 44 Grosvenor Square, W1K 2HP
Located inside the Millennium Hotel, Avista is one of the many Italian restaurants opening in London this Autumn but with Michele Granziera - formerly of Zafferano - in the kitchen, it won't struggle to stand out from the crowd. Open daily for lunch and dinner; the menu features dishes like fritto misto Avista style, smoked rack of lamb, pumpkin tortelloni, and pannacotta with plums, mango and Armagnac.

Tibits

The first branch of successful Swiss vegetarian chain, Tibits, has opened opposited Momo on Heddon Street. It's a seriously health-conscious affair with a menu full of vitamin-packed juices, fresh soups and sandwiches, daily changing hot dishes, and over 30 salads. Stay tuned for their second UK opening in West London later this year.
