Curry place tucked away in a concrete backstreet in the tourist hellhole around Marble Arch, it's not going to be good, is it? Well from the door, it smells fantastic, and the decor is smart and comfortable. But it's the food that really turns it around. There are plenty of upscale curry places springing up, and they do a great job of elevating the cuisine. Zayna takes it on a stage. The food looks pretty and service is as sharp and precise as it is at the top west end joints, but it's good old fashioned taste that ratchets it up a notch. The waiter was keen to explain to us about their homemade items, their sourcing and the marinating process, which sets Zayna well apart from run of the mill curry places.

The food was absolutely superb - a new and different take on Indian cuisine produced to a very high standard and the service and ambience was equally good. If you are looking for top quality Indian food with a real personal difference then this is it. It's a bit off the track but isn't noisy and rammed as a result. The prices are a pleasant surprise and the service was good.
