Took my friend from Hong Kong here on tues night - to let her sample good english comfort food in warm, informal surroundings but also with a buzz.. Food & atmosphere really hit the right note, we had the lamb, fish pie, charter pie, followed by chocolate brownie & cheese platter - my friend who insisted she didnt want dessert find the brownie to be the best ever - ditto for me. Really recommend this place - check out their website & menu & you can decide if the budget is for you.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008 - The other thing they aspire to around these here parts is a nice little place in the country and if they can’t have that then what better than to bring the countryside to SW7. Hence, Bumpkin the new sister restaurant to Bumpkin in Notting Hill. And true to their word (“For city folk who like a little country living…”) they theme up the place to the max, even down to playing Country & Western music. Country. Geddit?
